It was the last hand of the tournament... Jamie Gold was a chip leader. Jamie raises to $1,700,000 and Paul Wasicka makes the Call. The flop comes Q85. Paul Wasicka bets $1,500,000 and Jamie Gold moves all-in. Wasicka calls and shows 1010. However, Gold turns over Q9 for a pair of queens. The turn is the A and the river is the 4.

With the highest pair Jamie Gold wins this exciting battle. Paul Wasicka is eliminated from the tournament in second place and earns $6,102,499.

Jamie Gold Wins The Main Event of the 2006 World Series of Poker with buy-in of $10,000, as well as the title, Gold bracelet and $12,000,000 First Prize in cash.

The third finalist was Michael Binger who earned $4,123,310 3rd prize. Here is how it happened:

Jammie Gold limps from the button and Paul Wasicka limps from the small blind. Michael Binger raises to $1,500,000 from the big blind. Both Gold and Wasicka call and the flop comes 1065. Wasicka checks, Binger bets $3,500,000 and Gold moves all-in. Wasicka folds and Binger calls. Binger shows A10 and Gold turns over 43 for an open ended straight draw. The turn is the 7 and Gold makes a straight. The river is the Q and Michael Binger is eliminated in 3rd place on the main event of 2006 WSOP.
