Fastest Growing Internet Poker Site Gives Players One-on-One Opportunities in the "Mark Seif Heads-Up Shoot Out" tournament to win Cumulative Prize Money.

Costa Rica - Online poker players interested in trying their hand at beating a pro and winning a $10,000 seat at the Richest Sporting Event in the World - the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) now have their shot during the Absolute Poker's "Mark Seif Heads-Up Shoot Out" tournament starting the week of April 11, 2005.

Every Saturday at 2 PM EDT leading up to the WSOP main event in Las Vegas that starts July 7, AbsolutePoker.com's resident pro Mark Seif takes on the AbsolutePoker.com weekly Tournament Leader Board winner. The FreeRoll prize pool starts at $1,000, and AbsolutePoker adds $1,000, a custom Absolute Poker jacket, and an opportunity to win a WSOP Seat every week. Any player that beats Seif in the "Mark Seif Heads-Up Shoot Out" will win that week's prize pool and will automatically qualify to play him again the following Friday at 9 pm Eastern for a chance to win a $10,000 World Series of Poker Seat. If Seif wins, the money rolls over to the next week.

Attracting a spectator audience of 2,000, Seif won the last two weeks bringing this week's total prize to $3,000. The shoot out regularly played on Saturday is scheduled for a special time this Friday at 9 PM Eastern. The following week the shoot out will resume on Saturday.

Absolute Poker, which provides games 24/7 for thousands of concurrent players around the world, is also qualifying players for the WSOP main event in Las Vegas through daily online poker satellite tournaments that players can enter for as little as $5. Those players that win their seat not only receive buy-in to the WSOP main event, but money towards airfare and accommodations. Download free poker software.

"This is a fun way for players to test their skill and try their hand at getting to the World Series of Poker for free," said Seif. "The Tournament Leader Board winner gets a shot at winning at least $1K and a seat at the Big One in Las Vegas all without additional entry money or ever having to leave their computer. Our players have come out in droves to compete in the Tournament Leader Board contest and now Absolute Poker is adding a $10,000 WSOP 2005 seat. All they have to do is just beat me heads up."

The 36th annual World Series of Poker begins June 2, 2005 at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. With more than 6,000 expected participants, the WSOP's $10,000 buy-in main event is expected to generate a prize pool of US $60 million, making it the richest sporting event in the world.

Absolute Poker, which is five times larger than the largest land-based poker room in the world, is one of the fastest growing online poker site out of an estimated 260 Internet poker sites, regularly attracting more than 10,000 players simultaneously.

According to Seif, the public's seemingly insatiable demand for a fun, convenient and secure way to play poker has caused astronomical growth for AbsolutePoker and other online poker leaders. "We expect our player numbers to quadruple this year, and I think that's because people are realizing that playing poker online is a blast. From what we hear, many players chose Absolute Poker because we have the best loyalty program in the industry. We not only offer more bonuses than any other site but this month alone AbsolutePoker will offer more than $50,000 in prize money for tournaments that have no cash buy-in and require only Absolute Poker Reward points."
