The Captain's Report From The Caribbean Cruise Of International Casino Games 2005/6 Finalists, Part 1.

ICG2005 day1 The International Casino Games has set sail on its glittering finale. 95 players and their partners successfully boarded the ship on Saturday February 25 and waved goodbye as they steamed off to the Caribbean.

Players and their partners began arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday, February 22. These eager beavers were all greeted by the Fortune Lounge hosts who have been busy preparing so that this momentous occasion goes off without a hitch. The final guests arrived on Saturday and were immediately escorted to port, where they were greeted by Fortune Lounge hosts and ushered through the Fortune Lounge VIP queue.

Day One - Saturday, February 25.
All aboard! Players were dazzled by their beautiful staterooms, complimentary gift bags (including Fortune Lounge towels, shirts, caps and more), as well as a welcome bottle of champagne. Once settled, players then attended a special Fortune Lounge welcome cocktail event in the awesome Skywalkers night club. This was then followed by a group picture. Everyone was welcomed by Fortune Lounge, members of the Caribbean Princess casino management team, and other cruise directors.

Day Two - Sunday, February 26.
The sun is shining in the Caribbean, and the slots have been spinning! The initial round of the ICG final slots tournament got underway at 2pm [Ship time] on Sunday. Everyone is holding thumbs to make it into the following rounds. All the finalists have tallied up their scores from their first round with the current top scorer standing at a little over $12,000. It's still anyone's prize though, since Monday is the second round. The scores from round one and two will be added together to select the 54 players that will advance to the quarter finals on Thursday.

With the preliminaries under way, everyone is really settling into holiday mode. There's much swimming, sun-tanning, gambling and partying going on. On Sunday night 50 of the guests joined the Fortune Lounge hosts for a formal dinner in one of the Caribbean Princess' most elegant dining rooms. The other 50 players will have dinner with the Fortune Lounge hosts on Monday night.

So far the cruise has been a runaway success and everyone is beaming from ear to ear. It's hard to imagine that by the end of the week one of these players will be winning the Grand Prize of $250,000 in cash.

Day Three - Monday, February 27.
We wake up to another sun-drenched day in the Caribbean and you could cut the excitement with a knife. The second round of the slots tournament went off today with much competition and anticipation as people played for their spot in the quarter finals. Below you will find a list of 54 names. Each of these people now has a 1 in 54 chance of winning a quarter of a million dollars in cash. You can imagine how they must feel! The weather here is stunning at the moment and the entire group is having a whale of a time.

Last night Fortune Lounge hosted a formal dinner with half of the finalists, which gave people a chance to get to know each other a little better and discuss the happenings of the day. We'll be joined for dinner by the remaining half of the players this evening.

For the next 2 days, we'll be exploring St Thomas Island, and then on to St Maarten Island where guests will be shopping, snorkeling, sun tanning, sightseeing and generally having the time of their lives!
